Saints Simon and Jude School takes the safety of our students very seriously. In recent years, many improvements have been made to our facility and procedures to ensure this safety.
All doors (external and internal) are locked at all times
Access is controlled by school office
License scan system in the office. Volunteers must have clearances and wear a name badge to indicate they have permission to be in the building
Recording cameras on the perimeter of the building and in the school cafeteria
Several drills take place including fire and lock-down
Use of walkie talkies in the recess yard and during dismissal
School Board Security Committee advises and assists with upgrades. Most recently, classroom doors were replaced for grades 1 to 8.
