Miss Meghan McCarthy is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education, and has the Dual Certification. She completed her student teaching internships for grades 3-5 Special Education, as well as 1st and 4th General Education. At the Mount, she swam on the Division I swim team. Miss McCarthy and her family are parishioners at St. Norbert in Paoli. She and her two older brothers, Matt and Brendan, attended grade school at St. Norbert. They also each attended Bishop Shanahan High School. She is thrilled to be a part of the community at Saints Simon and Jude and hopes to create a learning environment where students can grow both spiritually and academically.
WELCOME TO GRADE 5
Goals
5 th Grade is a very exciting, transitional year at Saints Simon and Jude School! Students embark on a new journey as they begin to switch classes for the first time and see various teachers each day. Throughout the year, 5 th grade students further develop their relationship with God, their study skills and organizational strategies, their ability to work independently on tasks in and out of the classroom, their social skills, and their ability to advocate for themselves, and their overall confidence as students. The independence that students in 5 th grade develop will prepare them for their journey into the middle school.
