Class Expectations

Our program allows the students to experience team and individual activities in a non-competitive environment. We are striving to develop life-long learning and appreciation for activity and recreation in your children.
I ask the student’s to be prepared for every class by following a few simple guidelines:- Wear the Saints Simon and Jude gym uniform, Socks above the ankle.
- Sneakers are imperative on the wood floor and must be secure on the foot. No slip-on shoes or shoes that can fly off the foot. No roller skate sneakers
- No Jewelry of any kind. This is for the student’s safety and the safety of other children in the class. If a child wears jewelry they will be asked to take it off and given a calendar mark.
- You will hear a lot about respect this year from your student. Respect for other students as well as the gym equipment will be emphasized.
Grades four through eight receive a physical education grade on their report cards. The following rubric will be applied and a grade given every day. For the more detailed Rubric please go to the page entitled How I get my P.E. Grade.- Unsatisfactory. Demonstrates little or no understanding and limited achievement of the Physical Education standards targeted during the marking period.
- Needs Improvement. Demonstrates some understanding and minimal achievement of the Physical Education standards targeted during the marking period.
- Developing Appropriately. Demonstrates satisfactory understanding and adequate achievement of the Physical Education standards targeted during the marking period.
- Exceeding. Demonstrates complete understanding and high achievement of the Physical Education standards targeted during the marking period.
