What is CARES?
Saints Simon and Jude CARES program offers before and after school care to all Saints Simon and Jude School children. Our CARES program provides care, supervision, recreation and enrichment activities for your children. It serves families who desire both parochial school education and before/after school daycare in a Catholic environment. The CARES program is staffed by experienced, devoted and committed personnel.
Any funds remaining in your account at the end of the school year will transfer to the new school year. If you are no longer using the CARES services, any balance may be transferred to either your lunch or pretzel prepaid accounts or be applied to your tuition account. If you are leaving the school, any unused balance will be refunded to you. Contact Scott Lash with help in transferring or releasing prepay fund balances.
Afternoon CARES is available from dismissal to 6:00 p.m. Morning CARES is available from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. (not available on days with a school delay). Any student arriving at school before 7:50 a.m. must be registered in the CARES program.
All CARES registration fees and fees for service will be charged to you through your existing FACTS account as a “Prepaid” account. You can set up your prepaid account with the link below. This account will allow you to add funds for us to draw against each week. Each Monday, we will charge your prepaid account for the previous week usage. You will receive a notice from FACTS for each charge added to your account. Once your account prepaid balance reaches a balance of $30, you will receive a reminder notice from FACTS to add funds to your account.
You will have the ability to generate any reports you may need for FSA reimbursement or tax returns directly from your FACTS account at any time.If you have any questions on your FACTS account please contact Scott Lash at [email protected] or 610-696-3624.
CARES Registration Process
STEP 1 - SET UP PRE-PAY ACCOUNT (New School Families Only)

STEP 2 - REGISTRATION FORM
Click here to complete one Online Registration Form for your family.
STEP 3 - CARES AGREEMENT
Click here to for a CARES Agreement. Print the document, fill in your child's name, indicate your agreement by checking the boxes, and sign and date. One form is required for each child. PLEASE NOTE: The document is also a Preschool Agreement as this is required for preschool students. If your child is not in preschool, you can cross off Little Explorers Preschool under the services to be provided.
STEP 4 - EMERGENCY CONTACT/PARENTAL CONSENT FORM

Save the document to your computer, type in the required information, save and print the document, and sign the areas designated by an "X". PLEASE NOTE, if you are registering more than one child, re-save the document and change your child's name, and then follow the same steps.
STEP 5 - CHILD HEALTH REPORT
Click here to download one Child Health Report per student. The form must be completed by your physician. PLEASE NOTE, if your child is in preschool and you submitted a Child Health Report as a part of the admissions process, please note this for our CARES staff.
All students MUST have completed forms. Please send the forms to the school office (Attn: CARES). Once we receive all of the required forms, we will charge your FACTS prepaid CARES account for the non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 per child. CARES RATE CHART
Morning: (AM CARES) - 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.
Afternoon: (PM CARES) - 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Half Day: (EXTENDED) - 11:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Extended CARES is offered on most half days.)
REGISTRATION FEES
Registration - non-refundable........................... $25.00 per child
(Please submit $25.00 Registration Fee for each child when submitting an application)
HOURLY RATES 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR (see below rate chart)
One Child............................................................ $11.50 per hour
Two or More Children......................................... $18.50 per hour
Three or More Children....................................... $23.50 per hour
Late Pick Up........................................................ $ 5.00 for every 10 minutes or fraction thereof
No child will be admitted to the program unless all registration and health forms have been submitted.

For Parents/Guardians who will only be using CARES on an occasional basis: You are required to email your child/children's teacher and CARES before 2:00 p.m. on the days your child/children will attend.
