Students must be prepared for class with materials and homework.
Homework is given on a regular basis. Assignments may be written, study/review, or both. All homework should be completed on the night it was given. It is the responsibility of each student to check homework assignments daily on Google Classroom. All materials and assignments must be brought to class on the day it is due. If supplies and/or homework are missing or incomplete, the appropriate comment will be marked on his/her calendar.
If a child is absent, a sibling or a responsible homework buddy should gather necessary materials and communicate assignments during his/her absence.
Grades:
Please refer to Option C on a regular basis (www.optionc.com).
Test scores and missing assignments will be displayed on this site. Tests will not be sent home unless requested.
Class Participation is a very important component of learning. This will be assessed under the Effort and Study Skills section of the Report Card.
Generally, extra credit projects are not offered, as there are a wide variety of opportunities throughout the trimester to demonstrate student learning.
Students must respect themselves, as well as others. To get respect, one must give respect.
Positive Learning Environment:
Behavior should be conducive to learning at all times.
Trips to the bathroom and water fountain are not permitted during class time, except on an emergency basis.
When walking in the hallways, silence must be maintained since other classes are still in session.
Conduct Calendar:
Students and parents should be familiar with the list of infractions on the conduct calendar.
A signature is required when an infraction is recorded on the calendar.
Accumulated marks may result in detention as described on the calendar.
A detention results in a “2” on the report card under “Effort and Study Skills” or “Conduct and Effort” based on the type of infractions that resulted in the detention.
Students and parents should refer to the school handbook for details on these and other school policies.
